OMS celebrated the new SmartLab with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 29th. Volunteer students Liam, Ethan, and Tyler came in to show the community different aspects of the SmartLab and the cool things they have been working on in class. Congrats to the OMS PE Student of the Week: Logan!

8th grader Logan is our PE student of the week. Logan demonstrates leadership and kindness to his peers in class. He is very helpful and communicates in a genuine and respectful way when he is trying to help someone learn the right way to do a skill. We appreciate his positive attitude and example! Way to go Logan!!-Mrs. Weller

Sawyer is always on time, prepared for class, helps others with their locks in the locker room, welcomes new students, and is very dependable. I can always rely on Sawyer to assist me with anything I need. She is always smiling, kind to others, and always has a cheerful and positive attitude!- Mrs. Weller

Loretta goes above and beyond helping her math partner understand the math. Loretta is patient and so kind in making sure she doesn't just tell her partner the answer, but helping explain the process. Way to go, Loretta!-Mrs. Thomsen!

OMS Cross Country has been off to a great start! Their recent meet at Stark County had the boys finish 3rd as a team. Connor medaled with a 4th-place finish. Brantley and Nate both finished within the top 25. The girls placed 4th, also! Gillian placed 7th, and Annmarie placed in the top 25! Keep pushing those limits!

Guess who’s rolling into town? The Mobile Dental Bus will be at Orion on Tuesday, September 3!

It’s the perfect chance for students to get their smiles shining bright without leaving school.

OMS students and staff celebrated our three retiring teachers: Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Hepner, and Mrs. Fausett. Two staff members, Mrs. Lau and Mrs. Meisenburg, are moving on to new adventures.

We wish our 8th graders the very best as they move on to OHS.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Good Luck at State! 🏅 Let’s give a big shoutout to our amazing Orion Middle School track athletes as they compete at the State Meet this weekend! Your hard work, determination, and team spirit have inspired us all. We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished! Go Chargers!!

Indoor Field Day: 7th and 8th graders competed in eclipse ball, volleyball, four square, trivia, bowling, and team shuttle racing.

Our 6th grade science classes are learning to fly drones. Students flew the drones through various obstacles.

6th graders shared their passion project with classmates. Each student did an amazing job.

Congratulations to Jovey and Drew. They earned the Prairieland Conference Leadership Award . The award is given to two 8th grade students from each conference school. The students were honored because of their conference participation, leadership, citizenship, and academic success.

7-8 Dance. This group enjoys the Cha-Cha Slide. They are a great group!

Orion Middle School celebrated our Fine Arts students on Thursday. Both choirs and bands performed for an overflow crowd. The art students displayed their creations in the cafeteria. Both the students and teachers did an outstanding job.
