
OMS students and staff celebrated our three retiring teachers: Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Hepner, and Mrs. Fausett. Two staff members, Mrs. Lau and Mrs. Meisenburg, are moving on to new adventures.

Indoor Field Day: 7th and 8th graders competed in eclipse ball, volleyball, four square, trivia, bowling, and team shuttle racing.










Our 6th grade science classes are learning to fly drones. Students flew the drones through various obstacles.








6th graders shared their passion project with classmates. Each student did an amazing job.











Congratulations to Jovey and Drew. They earned the Prairieland Conference Leadership Award . The award is given to two 8th grade students from each conference school. The students were honored because of their conference participation, leadership, citizenship, and academic success.



7-8 Dance. This group enjoys the Cha-Cha Slide. They are a great group!

Orion Middle School celebrated our Fine Arts students on Thursday. Both choirs and bands performed for an overflow crowd. The art students displayed their creations in the cafeteria. Both the students and teachers did an outstanding job.









8th graders attended "school day" at the Quad City River Bandits game.



Today, we celebrate the incredible work of our administrative assistants, D'Carla and Kristy— the quiet heroes who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Your dedication, organization, and patience makes OMS a better place.

Congratulations to Grace and Andrew. Both were recognized at the Illinois Principal's Association Leadership breakfast this morning. Both are respected by peers and staff because of their character, friendliness, and hardwork.





A huge congratulations to our 7th & 8th Grade Scholastic Bowl teams for their amazing performance in this year’s conference competition! Thanks to their dedication, teamwork, and sharp minds, both teams have secured the title of conference champions!


Several OMS girls participated in the "Women in Manufacturing" field trip today. They got some hands-on welding experience while they were there.










OMS students learned about Native American culture during an assembly on Thursday. Chief Gerald Savage discussed traditions, music, storytelling, citizenship, and some of the Native American heroes who fought for the United States during the World Wars and beyond.


Good luck to our OMS wrestlers at state. Jace, Blake, Ellis, Ben, Max, Landyn, and Griffin.


OMS Choir hosted the Prairieland Conference Choral Festival Thursday night. Our students were outstanding. 200 students represented the 7 conference schools.
Thank you to Ms. McCullough for putting on a great show. Thanks to the OHS staff for hosting us. Finally, thanks to the families who fed all of the students and our janitorial staff.






8th Grade students visited Circa 21 today. Circa hosts several programs which discuss professions within the Arts. Students also watched Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery.
6th and 7th graders were treated to a performance by Morgan Myles. Ms. Morgan has a successful singing career and was a contestant on The Voice.
