PE Student of the Week- Leah!
Leah was chosen as our PE student of the week. Leah demonstrated extraordinary kindness and compassion to a fellow student who was having a really rough day in PE class. She took it upon herself to go over and sit down next to the student and chat for a few minutes. She empathized with the student and, by her encouragement and acknowledgement, the student began to participate in class with a much more positive attitude and new mindset. Well done, Leah. We need more of this! ♥️- Mrs. Weller

OMS staff took a selfie to honor Mrs. Weller and her last parent-teacher conferences, as she is set to retire at the end of the year!
OMS is extremely lucky to have students with multiple talents! 8th graders AnnMarie and Emerson shared their vocal talents by singing the National Anthem at the basketball game on Wednesday night. Photo credits to Joaquin Espejo! ❤️🤍🩵
OMS 6th graders carved pumpkins with Mrs. Walker! Students carved the pumpkins and made them throw up with hydrogen peroxide, yeast, food coloring, and warm water. They really "carved" out some time for some great fun. It was a "gourd-geous" day to carve some pumpkins. These pumpkins seemed to have a "autumn’y" ache. These pumpkin jokes are just way too "gourd!"
OMS Yearbook needs your help! They are looking for any photos you have that would make a great addition to the yearbook. Not only does the yearbook provide joy to the current students, it will also provide memories to look back on! OMS 8th Graders still have time to register for the Washington, DC trip! The trip dates are June 7-June 13, 2026. Students will visit many places, such as Mount Vernon, the Capitol Building, the Holocaust Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, Jamestown, Virginia Beach, Busch Gardens, and many more! Plus, it is the 250th birthday of the United States. If you are interested in signing your student up, please use the link below. OMS Student of the Week: Ty! Ty was nominated by three teachers!
Ty is a very kind kid who is always looking out for others. He is very considerate, always making sure to be friends with everyone, no matter what. Ty chooses to work with others in class to ensure no one is left out. He's amazing!- Ms. Marshall

OMS celebrated the amazing season of the cross country runners with a parade walk through the school. We also cheered on those who will be competing at the state level. Congrats to all runners on a great season, and good luck to those competing at state!
OMS PE Student of the Week- Bryce!
Bryce has shown outstanding leadership, positive attitude, and excellent behavior in PE class. He sets a great example for his classmates by demonstrating good teamwork and sportsmanship while helping others. OMS 6th-grade students made pumpkin pie in social studies with Mrs. Wallker! The students were feeling "gourd" and "pie-tastic!" They really "pie-oneered" these creations. They were sure to say "good-pie" on their way to their next class! 🥧🎃

OMS 6th-grade band is looking and sounding great! Not to "toot our own horns," but the students really had to "drum up the courage" to try something new. We'll be "flat" out honest, these students are "sharp!" Their music was "fluitable," and it was a "note" worthy night.
