CR Hanna halls saw the fun cardigans, wigs, and canes today for Senior Citizen Day!

Second grade scrubbed in and stepped into their operating room today—performing some serious surgery on their math and language arts skills! From solving tricky problems to stitching together strong sentences, these young doctors were hard at work sharpening their minds. Who knew school could be so fun?!

CR Hanna staff would like to thank Orion PTA for the snacks and drinks in the lounge during testing week! This is such a small gesture to brighten our week! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Big THANK YOU to our amazing Orion PTA!

Because of your generosity and support, our playground just got an awesome upgrade with a brand new gazebo and tables. The students couldn’t be more excited!

This space is going to be a game changer for our students. It will be a perfect spot for outdoor learning, lunch with friends, or just taking a break in the shade.

CR Hanna had their perseverance assembly this afternoon! Our leaders of the month showed great perseverance throughout the month of March. In April, we will be working on the character trait HONESTY!

Our 3rd–5th graders recently learned about the inspiring story behind the Violins of Hope.

These instruments—many owned by Jewish musicians before and during World War II—carry powerful stories of resilience. Some even feature Stars of David, reflecting cultural pride and tradition.

More than instruments, they are symbols of hope, reminding our students of the importance of remembering the past and choosing kindness in the present.

Second grade had their annual Flat Stanley Night! All the second graders did a wonderful job presenting their state slides. Families had a fun time exploring the interactive displays of the US regions and looking at the Flat Stanley journals. Thank you to all the parents and families for attending and everyone who hosted a Flat Stanley around the world! Second grade looks forward to this event every year! 🌎

We’re mixing things up this Friday, March 20 with a menu change your kids are going to LOVE! 😍

Exciting things happening in Kindergarten lately! Mrs. Essary's class wrote their first All About Me books and shared them with the class 📚 In music, K students used xylophones to explore melodic direction🎶

🌺 Aloha from CR Hanna 🌺 Friday, March 13 is Hawaiian Dress-Up Day! Get out your bright floral shirts, leis, and sunglasses, to bring island vibes to our hallways. We will also be having our Hawaiian Party celebrating quarter 3 good behavior!

CRH fifth graders attended Quad City Symphony’s Symphony Day 2026. They prepared for the concert in their music classes, learning about composers and melodies, concert etiquette and the instruments in the orchestra. Over 6000 students from in and around the Quad Cities attended the concert “The Orchestra Sings.” Following the concert, the students enjoyed lunch together at The Golden Corral. A big thank you to QCSO and the sponsors of Symphony Day 2026! 🎶

Second grade attended a field trip to the QC Botanical Center and Augustana College Fryxell Geology Museum! At the botanical center, they learned about parts of a plant, carnivorous plants, and toured the sun garden 🪴 At the Geology Museum they learned about the Cryolophosaurus dinosaur, discovered by an Augie professor, Dr. Hammer. They also learned about fossils, rocks, minerals, and gems! 🦖

Our third graders proved that fractions are deliciously fun! 🍕 After learning all about halves, thirds, fourths (and everything in between!), they put their knowledge to the test by solving pizza related fraction tasks.

CR Hanna's character trait of the month for the month of February was SELF CONTROL! Congratulations to this month's winners! In March, we are working on PERSEVERANCE and not giving up!

We were so excited to welcome members of the Orion High School production of The Little Mermaid who stopped by to give our students a special preview of their upcoming show happening this weekend at Orion High School!

Our hallways were filled with smiles and excitement as Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, the evil Ursula, and other cast members made a special appearance. The students loved meeting the characters, hearing a sneak peek of the performance, and getting a little taste of the magic happening on stage.

A huge THANK YOU to the Orion High School cast and director Mr. Wilburn for sharing your time and talents with our students — you truly made our day unforgettable!

1st grade celebrated the 120th day of school today with fun activities like counting to 120 and stacking 120 cups!

Love is in the air… and all down our hallway! ❤️ CR Hanna's hallway was bursting with hearts, kindness, and the sweetest little reminders of what Valentine’s Day is really about — friendship, caring, and spreading joy. From colorful creations to heartfelt messages, our students have truly filled these walls with LOVE. If these walls could talk, they’d say how proud we are of the kindness walking through them every single day. 💕 Happy Valentine’s Day from our school family to yours! 💌✨
