Congratulations to Carson Turnquist who has been named the OHS Student of the Month for October. Carson was selected by the faculty and staff of Orion High School due to is academic excellence, leadership, integrity, and responsibility within the classroom. Take some time and get to know this outstanding student.
What did one of Carson's teachers have say about him?
Carson is sneaky in the best ways. He's quiet and will rarely offer things in class publicly, but then he writes wonderfully thoughtful responses and always gives his full effort on them, applying the concepts from lessons that show that he is truly trying to understand them. He is so, so funny, and he applies that humor and creativity in ways that shows enthusiasm for making his teachers laugh. Around Christmas, he's been known to sneakily leave gifts for his teachers with no name attached--not for the recognition, but to be truly thoughtful. He is exactly the type of student this award is meant to highlight--not the most obvious choice, but one who may fly under the radar.

Beautiful performances by our 6th-12th grade choirs this evening. Their "Songs that Stay" performance definitely left the audience with a song or two stuck in their head.

Congratulations to Allison Taets who has been named the first OHS Student of the Month. Allison was selected by the faculty and staff of Orion High School due to her academic excellence, leadership, integrity, and responsibility within the classroom. Take some time and get to know this outstanding student.

What did one of Allison's teachers have say about her?
Mrs. Jenson: Alli is a well-rounded student who works hard to keep her grades up. She's responsible, and always respectful to everyone around her be it faculty, staff or students. Alli is an asset to have in class, not just because of her love of art, but because her positive attitude helps create a safe space for other students who may struggle. Her positivity also rubs off on other students which is always a plus. Alli is always willing to listen to constructive criticism, and apply changes and suggestions if needed. Alli's willingness to help new students both in class and out, has helped them to feel comfortable at OHS. Not everyone would be willing to do something like that, but all I had to do was ask Alli for her help, and she was instantly willing to do so.

The Charger Football team would like to thank these sponsors who provide a light pre-game meal before JV & Varsity away games and ensure that all of our players are fueled up and ready to go for game time! In just a couple of weeks, the Culinary Arts III students will take on the responsibility of prepping these meals as part of their curriculum and culinary training. So these sponsorships actually help both our athletes and our classrooms.

We wanted to make everyone aware that tonight's VB will still be streamed on NFHS Network, BUT unfortunately will still have a foggy view to it. We learned on Monday that the lens has condensation on the inside. We hoped it would have been resolved by tonight's game but has not and a new unit has been shipped and the camera will be replaced soon. Thank you!
