Student Council organized a change drive as a way to give students an opportunity to contribute to the hunger drive with the loose change in their cars.

OHS had a wonderful visitor today! Al Saunders came by with a generous donation to the Student Hunger Drive! Al has been a long time supporter of Orion and understands the needs of others. The Student Council would like to send a heartfelt thank you out to him for his charitable donation!

Mrs Nightingale’s PE classes had a visitor today talking about nutrition and healthier choices in snacking. Thank you to Dr. Lia Nightingale from Palmer College for presenting!

Congratulations to this years 2026 IHSA 1A Regional Volleyball Champs! Keep it rolling into next week girls! Chargers will play on Tuesday Nov. 3rd at Kewanee (Wethersfield) at 6pm. #GoBigRed #5peat

Congratulations to OHS's very own Junior Aidan Leingang as he was this weeks Harkey's Player of the Game! #Allin!

Congratulations Charger Football as they fought hard today and came out on top defeating LeRoy 21-20!! Chargers advance to the 2nd round of Playoffs and will play at Stockton at 1pm next Saturday Oct 31st! Keep on rolling boys! #Allin

And just like that the OHS Cross Country teams is Sectional Bound!! The boys placed 6th overall and advanced as a team! And Junior Macy Mullen qualified as an individual for the girls! Congratulations Chargers and keep it going! They will run next weekend at the Oregon Sectional in Oregon, IL.

OHS Student Council Spotlight

The Orion School District is honored to receive a National Disability Employment Awareness Month award recognizing our school district as a “Catalyst for Change”! This recognition celebrates our commitment to creating inclusive opportunities, promoting accessibility, and ensuring that individuals of all abilities have the opportunity to contribute, grow, and succeed. Patrick joined our custodial staff this year and has been a wonderful addition to OHS.

OHS Student Council Spotlight

Today, OHS celebrated our state-qualifying golfers by reviving an old Orion tradition: marching the hallways to the school fight song. Congrats to Evelyn Wilbur, CJ Lister, and John Nedved!

Definitely a good day on the course for the OHS Boys and Girls Golf team as they both participated in the IHSA 1A Sectionals. We had 3 individuals from the boys team in Byron and the girls team (6 participants) at Valley View in Cambridge. Out of the 9 who competed today we had 3 punch their ticket to State! Congratulations to Senior John Nedved, Junior Evelyn Wilbur, and Freshman CJ Lister. John and CJ will compete in the first round of State on Friday in Bloomington. Evelyn will compete as well on Friday in Decatur!! Good luck everyone!

The OHS Boys Golf team finally got their Regional in on Friday after being postponed two days in a row! And what a beautiful day it was! Congratulations to Freshman CJ Lister, Sophomore Nolan Armoska, and Senior John Nedved for advancing on to IHSA 1A Sectionals this coming Monday Oct 5th in Byron, IL. Good luck guys!
