Today was paws-itively amazing in second grade! 🐾
We had some special four-legged visitors come to our classroom to help us learn all about dogs, how they help people, and the important ways to safely and kindly interact with them. Students loved asking questions, observing their behaviors, and getting a chance to meet these sweet furry friends up close!
Learning truly comes alive when experiences are hands-on…and covered in a little dog hair. 🐶❤️ Thank you to our special guests and Mrs. Sharon Peterson for setting up this great day!

A huge THANK YOU to Sherman Lodge 535 for generously donating TWO bikes for our Bikes for Books drawing this year! Your support helps encourage a love of reading and brings so much excitement to our students.
Second grade students turn in tickets each night they read 15 minutes of more the month of April. We then draw from these tickets for the winners!🚲📚
Congratulations to our lucky winners:
⭐ Sydnie (2B)
⭐ Kolten (2A)
We are so grateful for community partners like Sherman Lodge 535 who help make opportunities like this possible!

In April, C R Hanna has been working on the character trait HONESTY! Here are our Leaders of the Month!

The Volleyball Pit is getting closer to being complete at CR Hanna.

Kindergarten finished their bird unit! They took a walk to look at birds and bird nests then created their own bird feeder with peanut butter and bird seeds

Our building turned into an adventure around the world as our first graders showcased their incredible animal reports. From the depths of the oceans to the heart of the jungle, students took us on a journey across the Earth, sharing facts, creativity, and excitement about their chosen animals.
We are so proud of the hard work, curiosity, and confidence our students displayed. They truly did a fantastic job!
Thank you to all of our visitors for coming out and taking a ride around the world with us. Your support made the night even more special!

Happy Secretaries Day to three of the very best—Mrs. Seys, Mrs. Thornburg, and Mrs. Kane!
Your kindness, organization, and ability to keep everything running smoothly do not go unnoticed. From helping students with a smile to supporting staff in countless ways, you are truly the heart of CR Hanna.
Thank you for all that you do each and every day. We appreciate you more than words can say!

Happy Earth Day!

CR Hanna halls saw the fun cardigans, wigs, and canes today for Senior Citizen Day!

Second grade scrubbed in and stepped into their operating room today—performing some serious surgery on their math and language arts skills! From solving tricky problems to stitching together strong sentences, these young doctors were hard at work sharpening their minds.
Who knew school could be so fun?!

CR Hanna staff would like to thank Orion PTA for the snacks and drinks in the lounge during testing week! This is such a small gesture to brighten our week! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Dust off those cardigans, grab your suspenders, and don’t forget the gray hair spray—Senior Citizen Day (old person) is just around the corner! We can’t wait to see our students transform into their wisest (and wackiest!) selves.

Big THANK YOU to our amazing Orion PTA!
Because of your generosity and support, our playground just got an awesome upgrade with a brand new gazebo and tables. The students couldn’t be more excited!
This space is going to be a game changer for our students. It will be a perfect spot for outdoor learning, lunch with friends, or just taking a break in the shade.
Be sure to check it out next time you’re on the playground!

CR Hanna had their perseverance assembly this afternoon! Our leaders of the month showed great perseverance throughout the month of March.
In April, we will be working on the character trait HONESTY!

Our 3rd–5th graders recently learned about the inspiring story behind the Violins of Hope.
These instruments—many owned by Jewish musicians before and during World War II—carry powerful stories of resilience. Some even feature Stars of David, reflecting cultural pride and tradition.
More than instruments, they are symbols of hope, reminding our students of the importance of remembering the past and choosing kindness in the present.

Second grade had their annual Flat Stanley Night! All the second graders did a wonderful job presenting their state slides.
Families had a fun time exploring the interactive displays of the US regions and looking at the Flat Stanley journals.
Thank you to all the parents and families for attending and everyone who hosted a Flat Stanley around the world!
Second grade looks forward to this event every year! 🌎

Exciting things happening in Kindergarten lately!
Mrs. Essary's class wrote their first All About Me books and shared them with the class 📚
In music, K students used xylophones to explore melodic direction🎶
