4th Grade is participating in a book tasting to find the perfect book for their first book club!

Each quarter CRH sets a goal of 25 or less office referrals for the entire building. If we meet that goal, PBIS celebrates with an activity.
We met the goal for quarter 1! To celebrate, we played school wide bingo. Every student had a bingo card and 5th graders read numbers of the intercom. Multiple winners were announced and received prizes from the office!

A big thank you to the OMS Cross Country team for visiting CR Hanna today! Our Fifth Grade students got to learn all about the exciting opportunity to join Cross Country when they move up to OMS next year. 🌟
The team shared what it’s like to train, compete, and be part of an amazing group that supports each other every step of the way. We can’t wait to see some of our future runners hitting the course next year!
GO CHARGERS!

Each year the local Lions Club generously donates a dictionary to each third grader and they get to meet the lion mascot! Afterwards, they take time in the classroom learning how to use them. Thank you Lions Club!

To end Fire Safety Week, first grade visited the Orion Fire Department and Osco Fire Department came to CRH to talk with second grade and spray the fire hose!
Thanks to OFD for also coming and showing off the trucks and sirens. It's always an exciting time for the students.

Mr. Blessman brought a few of his snakes in today to talk with 3rd grade about artificial selection, which is talked about in their recent science unit. He explained how he’s bred them for specific traits like color and pattern. 🐍

2nd and 3rd graders have been having so much fun playing the “Miss Sally Walker” game out at recess the past few days. They are all being very kind to each other and when someone else wants to join in, they happily make the circle a little bigger to include anyone that wants to play. It has been very sweet and heartwarming to watch!

Pirate Day fun at school—aye aye! 🏴☠️

During the month of September, CRH focused on the character trait RESPECT! Here are the Leaders of the Month!
October's character trait is RESPONSIBILITY!

First graders from CR Hanna went on a field trip to BlackHawk State Park. They learned about animals that live in different habitats and Native Americans that lived hundreds of years ago. They also went on a hike. It was a beautiful day and everyone had so much fun!

Students at CR Hanna Elementary have something exciting to look forward to this October—several new and delicious options will be joining the cafeteria menu!
Among the additions are hearty and flavorful choices like Turkey and Cheese on a Pretzel Bun, a student-friendly favorite with a fun twist, and Pizza-Topped Chicken, combining two mealtime classics into one tasty entrée. For a cozy option on chilly fall days, the cafeteria will also be serving Loaded Baked Potato Soup.
Healthier side options are expanding as well, with new items such as Celery and Hummus making their debut. Plus, students can expect more fresh fruits and vegetables to be featured daily, giving everyone more opportunities to fuel their bodies with nutritious choices.
And this is just the beginning—more new items are on the way soon as CR Hanna continues to update its menu with creative and wholesome meals for students to enjoy.
Stay tuned for updates, and be sure to try out these fresh new flavors when they arrive in October!

Tom and Sandy Lagomarcino, came to talk with 3rd grade. They just wrapped up their interactive read aloud set on “Connecting Across Generations.” They explained the history of their family business in the community and talked about some of the items we make. Kids loved getting to try some ice cream and chocolate too! Thanks Mrs. Armstrong and the Lago family!
