CRH Leaders of the Month for EMPATHY! These students showed empathy in the month of December. During January we will be focusing on PATIENCE as a school.

Surprise! To add a little extra holiday cheer, tomorrow will be Holiday Pajama or Comfy Clothes Day!

Students and staff are invited to come dressed in their favorite pajamas or coziest comfy clothes as we enjoy a festive, fun-filled day together. Let’s make CR Hanna extra cozy and full of Christmas spirit!

Our first and second grade students did a wonderful job at their holiday program, “Strum and Drum a Merry Little Quest!" The music, smiles, and enthusiasm truly kicked off the holiday season and made the evening so special for everyone in attendance. A huge thank you to Mrs. Moen and our first and second grade teachers for all of their hard work, dedication, and time spent preparing our students for this concert. We are so proud of our young performers and grateful for the staff who help make moments like these possible!

Disney Day is TOMORROW at CR Hanna!

Get ready to sprinkle a little pixie dust on your wardrobe because tomorrow we’re celebrating Walt Disney’s birthday in full magical style!

Grab those Mickey ears, rock your favorite Disney shirts, channel your inner princess, suit up like a superhero, or show off your best Pixar pal—whatever brings the Disney magic to life!

Let’s turn CR Hanna into the happiest school on Earth for the day! We can’t wait to see all the magical, whimsical, and totally fun outfits!

Our amazing 2nd grade teachers turned the hallway into a festive holiday Gingerbread Lane, and it is pure sweet joy! From candy canes to cozy cottages, every detail was made with love to bring a little extra magic to our school. A huge shoutout to our incredible custodian, Mr. Dennis, who went all-in and dressed up as a gingerbread man to help bring the hallway to life. The kids (and adults!) are absolutely loving it! It’s beginning to look a lot like… gingerbread season! 🍬🏠✨

CR Hanna's Gratitude Leaders of the Month for November. In December, we will be celebrating Empathy.

To celebrate Native American Heritage Month, 2nd grade had a special visitor, Rudy, who is a local American Indian. He taught the students about the different tribes, eagles, and how they used animals for survival. They learned many different songs and dances, too. Thank you to Orion PTA for paying for him to come talk with our students!

Congratulations to Mrs. Crose, Preschool Teacher at CR Hanna Elementary School for being awarded the B100 QC Teacher of the Week. She was given a certificate, a basket full of chocolates, and a bag full of goodies. We are so proud of Mrs. Crose and all the work she does with our preschool students!

We would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to the CR Hanna Community for all of your donations to the Orion High School Hunger Drive. While we wait for all the results from OHS on the number of pounds we collected,, we we wrapped up our Cereal Box Challenge in the most fun way. Today, we set up 255 boxes of cereal like dominoes for the entire school to enjoy! The excitement and teamwork were incredible to see.

Responsibility Leaders of the Month! In November, CRH will be focusing on the character trait GRATITUDE!

The Orion School District is proud to announce that CR Hanna Elementary School and Orion High School have earned an “Exemplary” Designation from the Illinois State Board of Education. Today, the ISBE released the Illinois State Report Card for schools all over the state. This achievement places CR Hanna and OHS in the Top 10% of all schools statewide. To achieve this honor, both schools earned a high cumulative score in the areas of, academic testing, school climate (measured by the 5 Essentials Survey), a low absenteeism rate and other measures. Thank you to our students, parents and staff for the roles you play in making this happen!

Kindergarten sun science- building shade structures to give shade to two little cows. Eight 5th grade buddies come and help each class on building days!

4th Grade is participating in a book tasting to find the perfect book for their first book club!

Each quarter CRH sets a goal of 25 or less office referrals for the entire building. If we meet that goal, PBIS celebrates with an activity. We met the goal for quarter 1! To celebrate, we played school wide bingo. Every student had a bingo card and 5th graders read numbers of the intercom. Multiple winners were announced and received prizes from the office!
