Dear Parents and Community Members
On October 22, the Orion High School Volleyball Team will be hosting a community service project called the “Knights of Honor”. The volleyball team would like to use this evening to honor veterans and first responders for their selfless service to our community and the nation as a whole. That night all honoree’s names will be announced before the varsity volleyball game. All proceeds from this event will be given to the QC Honor Flight. If you would like to honor a veteran or first responder that evening please use the attached form and either drop it off or mail to Orion High School: Attn: OHS Volleyball, 1100 13th St., Orion, IL 61273.
If you have any questions, please contact: Alissa Kunert: 563-508-3949 or Kristy Sandberg: 309-945-6883.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
Sincerely,
The OHS Volleyball Program

Dear Orion Chargers,
We need 6-8 volunteers to help with prepping and serving concessions at the "Fall Sports Preview" tomorrow night. Concessions directly fund all of our athletic programs, so your help is essential. This is an opportunity to support every sport and ensure they have the resources they need. If you’re available, please let us know. Your support makes a difference.

Due to some course conflicts tonight's Boy's and Girl's Golf meet vs. Ridgewood has been canceled. We are in the process of finding a make up date!
There has also been a change for next Wednesday August 21st golf meet vs. United and Galva. This meet will now be home at Oakwood!

Parents: Please join us for the 2024 Orion High School Open House. This is a great opportunity to meet your student's teacher and learn about the OHS curriculum. We hope to see everyone on Wednesday, August 21st at 6:30pm.

Potential SCAM ALERT!!! The school district been made aware of a scam where our student/athletes receive a text message asking them to join their team's "NIL Club" in fundraising for the school/team. When the athlete follows the link and enters their information, it creates a fundraising page and then texts that link out to everyone in their contacts asking for donations.
While some of our programs have used online/text messaging fundraising it has been through a company by the name of Leading Edge or Launch fundraising. Any contact through "NIL Club" is not sponsored by an Orion School District program. Please do not click on any links from "NIL Club" as an athlete or a supporter.

We are excited that school starts this week in the Orion School District! Backpack Night takes place at C.R. Hanna and OMS Monday night, with school starting on Tuesday at all three buildings. Let's Go Chargers! Go Big Red!

New vinyl door wraps were installed on the main gym doors today thanks to the generosity of the classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. A special thank you to Daniel Cline who donated his time to create the graphic design.
