E-Learning Day for Orion School District on Friday, January 23, 2026!

Fun night at OHS! Our Class of 2026 Hall of Famers were inducted and both the F/S and Varsity Boys Basketball teams picked up big wins over Riverdale. Congrats to all!

OHS PE Classes enjoyed a visit today from the National Guard, and students were able to participate in several Archery Tag games!

There has been a little change for tomorrows Charger Girls Basketball Round Robin! There will no longer be a 9am game. The Varsity Girls will start off at 10:30am vs. Ridgewood. Following after will be the JV Girls vs. Ridgewood and to finish off the day, the Varsity Girls will play Peoria Heights at 2pm!

Just a reminder that the OHS Hall of Fame Night takes place this evening. We hope to see everyone there to support our inductees!

The school may be on Christmas Break but that doesn't stop our winter sports! Check out where we will be after Christmas and cheer on our Chargers. Varsity Boys Basketball games on Monday and Tuesday will be TBD based on the days before. And Wrestling matches on Tuesday will be determined based on how each wrestler will do Monday. Good luck to all 3 programs! Go Big Red!

Congratulations to Leo Nedved who has been named the OHS December Student of the Month. Leo was selected by the faculty and staff of Orion High School due to his academic excellence, leadership, integrity, responsibility within the classroom and his willingness to learn. Take some time and get to know this outstanding student.

A HUGE shout out to Davenport Chick- fil-A for recognizing the top class of the OHS Student Hunger Drive competition. These students collected more pounds of food per student than any other 5th class and enjoyed a free meal as an award for their community service!

OHS Student Council has been busy over the past few weeks raising funds for the Orion Food Panty and Orion Christmas for Kids! Students were able to assist in the organization for the Christmas for kids program and help provide over 90 Orion students smiles around Christmas season!

Congratulations to Delaney Tapscott as we honored her today after school as she signed her National Letter of Intent! Delaney will be continuing her Volleyball career at Carl Sandburg in Galesburg! Good luck to her and the Chargers these next 2yrs!

What an awesome busy night last night at the OHS Girls Basketball game! Not only did we have an amazing turnout for the Brantley Francis Foundation fundraiser but we honored our future Chargers at youth night! Thank you all who came and supported! The girls basketball team raised about $3,000 that will be donated to the foundation!

On Wednesday, The Gray Matters Collective invited Chef Greenwood to teach members about the relationship between food and mental health. The club then learned how to make healthy, delicious smoothies for breakfast before the school day started.
