Orion High School is proud to announce that for the 1st time ever, OHS has earned an “Exemplary” Designation from the Illinois State Board of Education. Yesterday, ISBE released the Illinois State Report Card for schools all over the state. The achievement places OHS is in the Top 10% of all schools, including elementary and middle schools, statewide .
To earn this honor, OHS earned a high cumulative score in the areas of, academic testing (PSAT/SAT scores), graduation rate (99%), school climate (measured by the 5 Essentials Survey) and a low absenteeism rate. To celebrate this achievement and our student's and staff's efforts we hosted a Whitey’s ice cream sundae bar during lunches today.

Several student band leaders participated in the Prairieland Band Festival in Sherrard. The OMS band and choir groups continue to grow and improve.
Great job - Annmarie, Julia, Liv, Lanie, Harrison, Payton, Phoenix, Elliot, and Finn.

The OHS Student Hunger Drive is underway and the Student Council is collecting non-perishable goods until 8:00 am on November 7th! Pick-up is also available by contacting OHS at 309-525-3361 and cash donations can be accepted as well! Help support our students by helping others!

A MESSAGE FROM THE OHS/OMS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS! Please be cautious and careful when driving through town and rural roads around Orion, as we have multiple students after school running for Cross Country practices. Students have been instructed to run on the left hand side of the road so they can see oncoming traffic (except when going up big hills, they move to the right). They have also been instructed to wear brightly colored clothing to easily be seen. Please again be mindful when driving after school hours and during their practice time. Thank you!
